error 0xC0000005 is commonly connected with explorer.exe or errors are raised from using this application and can be caused by an illegal "memory access violation". This can be caused by anything from dodgy RAM, an device driver, poorly written/updated software and more commonly under Windows XP Service pack 2, malware/adware installations. Other arguments state that it is due to a SPAN tag in html not being completed. This does not sit well though in general arguments as to the main cause of this error.
